looking for prop ideas for my sonic 358 w/502EFI-Bravo1.5, anyone, anyone?

I am taking a wild guess here, but I would start w/ 27 or 28 Hydro, not real up on twins. :rolleyes:

I'm thinking about selling a pair of 26 4 blade hydromotives. I ran 2 26's and a 27 on my 42 Sonic with trip 502s. They turned 73 mph @ 5100 RPMs. But I'm bumping up the power, and I'll probably need bigger wheels. Let me know if you are interested.

You better start with either a set of 23" Mirage+ or a set of 22" Bravos. Your boat has to be close to mine, a heavy 35' w/o steps. With stock 502 carb motors I was running 21' Mirages w/ 1.36 gears. After bumping things up a bit, I am running a set of 23" Mirage+ at 74+ mph. Not bad for a non-blown tugboat.

I don't know what Cigarette you have, but I'm sure it weighs a lot more than that Sonic. I belive the 358 is right around 7800.
My buddy tells me his Cafe is around 10,000.

I have a Cafe Racer that is around 9500#'s.

I always thought Sonics were some of the beefier boats around. How much does your 42' weigh in at?

I was looking at 31' Sonics and Cigarettes until the wifey said "you better get what size you really want, because we aren't selling this one in six months". Hey, so I started shopping for a Top Gun but couldn't find one I liked within the budget. I've been through three seasons with the Cafe and it looks like it'll be another 2-3 before I start shopping again.

My Sonic weighs around 12,000 with triples. A twin 42 is 10,500, and yea there well built boats, but Cigarettes are bult like tanks. It always seems like in the rough stuff the Cigarettes are the only thing that can hang with me.

it's amazing that a cigarette can hang on with you in rough water, being poorly built and all.

as far as the props go, you should be fine with 24" 4-Blade Bravo's

yesca, I don't think Madcow was slamming Cigarettes in any way. Are you saying Cigarettes are poorly built? :confused:
