What cameras work best in the engine compartment...kind of dark while running. What spec's to do you recommend?

Gino I have the Northstar 6000i which is also the only gauges that I have and a Garmin 3210 for GPS and DVD playback as well as camera viewing. They are pretty close in $$, I do think the Northstar has better color. They are both great.

Hey Active do you have the xm weather overlay on yours? I know 7000I has that, was not sure if you could install on the 6000i. I bought mine 3yrs ago and need to do a software update.

Thanks

David

I don't have the cameras yet. I'm just starting to shop around. The system is on my 50' Bertram. I have two little kids & I want to be able to see the whole cockpit and the salon so I know where everyone is. I'll also put one in the engine room.

The Northstar is by far the best, and the Furuno Nav Net system is really clear as well, we have that on our boat. Camera's, Video, Radar, Depth Sounder / Fish Finder, Chart Plotter & Weather Map.

kind of off topic but does anyone know of a color GPS that has depth contouring images available for around $5-600? The area i boat in is all rocks and crisscrossing channels so its needed.

Has anybody tried the new Ray Marine CAM50 camera? I just found this online for less than $200. It seems like this compact unit could be the low cost camera for below deck or the engine compartment.
Is there any reason this camera wouldn't work in any GPS with the NTSC connection? Where can you get a 30' video cable?
