New SBC circulating pump...sealant on hardware?
I just replaced the circulating pump on my SBC (Volvo Penta) and afterwards I wondered if the 4 bolts that hold it to front of motor enter water jacket. Should I have used sealant on them (perfect seal or something similar to head bolts). My factory mnaual says nothign about sealig them. Also the pulley (V belt) wobbles and I put a dial indicator on it and it is the pulley, not the water pump shaft, I think maybe the center hole is slightly under sized and not sitting flat on flange. I might take pullet back off and chamfer the inner edge, will a slight wobble wear bearings or worst throw belt.

They enter the water, but usually don't present any problems if not sealed. GM pulleys are common to wobble, they are just stamped sheet steel. There's not enough mass there to bother anything considering the pumps usually have a fan attached to them in automotive applications.
