The OL 37 center console is good for 75 with triple 300xs's. That's with 3/4 full of fuel.

Better have a fuel truck with you with those Monty V8's.

Don't know the Monty's very well do you? Well, let me tell you. A good friend has run a set of Monty's on his 30 Scarab for the last 5 years, not only has he had zero issues with the engines but he also gets 0.9 MPG. These engines was dynoed at 390HP and he has two of them on the back. Monty does some awesome work with these engines and the results are proven over and over. Just because the trend tells one to the get the latest and greatest doesn't necessarily means that one can't keep up with an old block.

I know, I know, the new 4 strokes might have gotten him 1.0 MPG, imagine how much fuel I can get for the cost of 3 V8 Yammis.....

Well well well, life does throw you a curve ball now and then but I am back to full speed on the project. I had to store the boat for a year while we attempted to live in Atlanta, and the ants had a party with the wood in the transom. I cut the transom, pulled all the wood from transom and stringers and have numerous buckets of Arjay ready to fill the cavities. Monty has finished two of the engines ( I told him to use the time he needed and put them on the back burner until I solved the transom issue) but is now going full speed ahead with the third. Bob has mounted the nose cones on the gear boxes and will deliver the jackplates this week. So yes, it's an old thread, and old boat, old engines, and I'm an old school guy but the project is coming together very nicely and we will be boating this summer. Now I am looking for a set of trim tabs, do you know of an old set thats not made out gold like the ones in the classifieds, please let me know.

This Avance (this one is not mine) went 95mph yes 95 mph before everyone started making CC fast. The boat was built extremely light. To the best of my knowledge this is the fastest CC. The boat is for sale and last time I saw it was in need of tlc. When the original owner had it (Gabby from GAW racing) it was nice and clean. He then sold it and built another Avance which he still has. Gabby ran it 95.
