Soon to be $3500 a weekend, right?...

I don't envy your gas bills but I guess it's cheap compared to all those dumpsters and garbage trucks running around all week!

I don't know what I burn but it ain't that much... Probably more like 45 gph, taking one run per weekend and sitting on the island drinkin beers the next day.

140-180 gallons per weekend, but thats with alot of swimming and floating. If we run it hard we can burn 180gallons in no time at all.

It aint the gas thats the problem....Its the gas, the beer, the ice , the fried chicken, the chips the ,the suntan oil the 1000 bucks a month for the slip, the 4 grand to store it for the winter ,ect ect ect,.......It didnt take me long to figure out to hang out with other boaters who have an idea how much time and money is involved, instead of some cock**cker whose wife figures out their kid hates the water 3 minutes after you make it to the beach and drop the anchor....

I put in a 100-125 gal. on my way to the launch. I've never been out for the whole day 2-3 hours max. But, I cruise at 50-60 has little has possible. Run 90-105 as much as I can & spool up to w.o.t. when I get some clean water. Without any DAMN waverunner/jet ski bastards. The needle always seems to end in about the same place on the gauge. It's all worth it to me atleast.

I have actually done this, I ran a boat from Grand Marais , MI to Munising along pictured rocks so we went 3/4 for about 1/2 the way and on and off as we explored the rocks. The tank holds 24 gallons and with 9 adults (the boat is rated for 11 or 3200lbs), two dogs, coolers and extra clothing, dive gear for 2 plus 4 tanks and I ended up with 40 gallons. This was running about 35 in a 20ft Zodiac RIB with a 115 4 stroke EFI Yamaha. I was amazed, when we were just getting to Pictured Rocks we had a 20 mile run and kept it at 35, then it was in the 0- 20 range. Now I also did this in a 33ft Donzi and we went farther but ran all day and we used 200 gallons. We ran 60 and sometimes 70. This was long ago when gas was $150 a gallon and I thought I was going to die. That's why I downsized, I still get out there wit the dogs, it is a rather unique boat so it has character and I can afford to run it non stop all day, every day if I want. I still get the wind in my face and the smell of the water....and now no 2 stroke smoke. Heck I would buy a 20 ft aluminium boat with a 50hp motor if it was all I could afford.
