Congratulations Brownie
Great article on Mister Brown in this month's Powerboat. I loved the direct answers to Matt Trulio's questions. It pretty well captured your history and contributions to the sport....although there is much more.
I am wondering why he didn't dig further into your history with the ladies.........:p :p :p I think the statute of limitations has run out on a lot of your other escapades as well......:D :D Great story.... T2x |

In addition to the PB interview,he also has a new monthly column in HotBoat. Both mags came yesterday. Great job,Brownie, your column brings HotBoat mag up a notch or 2.

Here is our man when he was still wet behind the ears....... but still winning yet another offshore race.

Yes, great interview and I applaud the truthful and direct answers. Brownie was direct, short to the point and truthful with me back in 1998 when I bought some Stainless Marine exhaust from him at Stainless.
|
Now on with the stories they could not print!
|
Great interview Brownie, you tell it like it is.

Great interview with one of the truely great men in the history of offshore racing!
Matt Trulio did a great job but only scratched the surface in the limited space available.. If we had a hall of fame for offshore racing Brownie would be on the short list. Congratulations George |
Uh, George, we do have one, and I am in it (1967 Gulf Marine Racing Hall of Fame) along with some other guys, named Aronow, Wynne, etc. I don't remember who they are......

Great article on Mister Brown...
T2x I'll never forget his comment about making sure that all materials used in his boats had a specific gravity greater than 1.0. That way, if the boat broke up, it would sink and save everyone the embarassment of showing back up at the dock all busted up... :drink: Keep living well, Brownie - It's the best revenge. |

Great article. My favorite quote of the whole article was were he said (about Peter Hledin) "the best thing is you don't toot your own horn. That is the mark of a man."
Couldn't agree more with this comment and immediately reminded me of the extreme opposite end of the spectrum with a certain flamboyant boat builder/CEO.  |
When I die I want to come back as Brownie!
