Considering Leroy looks like a jigsaw puzzle with a couple of pieces gone, I don't think you're likely to meet him.

I don't follow Superman comics or movies, but didn't I hear that he bought the farm too?

If you decide to exercise your "freedom of choice" by not wearing your lanyard and are for whatever reason thrown from your helm or rendered unable to control your boat, and your boat runs into mine causing damage to my boat, or worse yet, injures one of my friends, family, or even myself, Make NO mistake I WILL come after you with every part of my being in every way possible.

I agree 100%....

I use my lanyard 100% of the time.

Life jackets, sometimes, usually early and late in the season when the water is cold or when I'm really AIRING the boat out.

Here's a way that no life jackets do effect others. A lot of my tax dollars go to the CG and other agencies when they have to spend two weeks looking for a body with helicopters, planes, boats, divers, sonar, etc. etc.. Plus, it takes resources away from other emergenicies.

I use a Jet Ski wrist band and hang it on the throttles so I can't miss it. The lanyard sometimes gets hung on the throttles when I reach up to adjust tabs or flip a switch. If it's a short hop no big deal. If I'm on a long run I hook it around my ankle so my arms are free.

Good post Brain and glad you are well on the way to recovery!!

how do you retro an older boat that does not have a lanyard?
Can someone show a link to a kit or install?

Ok, heres a questions. My boat has the little curly cord with a small clip at the end. I usually don't were a life jacket (and no I don't want to hear a lecture about that right now) so where do I clip the lanyard? If I'm wearing shorts its no problem to hook it to a belt loop or something but what about when I'm wearing a swim suit. Would be worried it would come off if just clipped to the wasteband.

Most swim trunks have a draw string either inside or outside. That's where I connect mine. Create a little knotted loop in the drawstring.

Unless you wear a banana hammock like OLD School, that's why he doesn't use his.
