The Formula 500 Super Sport Crossover is exactly the kind of boat Mercury Marine's Verado 600 outboard engines were designed to power, https://www.speedonthewater.com/insi...e-the-pairing/

Just saw a 600 for the first time in person at the Milwaukee boat show yesterday. Those things a massive! Literally about twice the size of a 450.

IGetWet,

It's a 7.6L V12.... Stuffed into an OB shroud.

When is mercury going to admit they are just standing big blocks on their bell housings and hanging them off the transom? It has to weigh a proverbial ton. This is undoubtedly why the motor is solid mounted and only the lower unit gimbals.

Thanks. Brad.

That 500SSC is a pretty incredible boat. It's got it all - space, accommodations and very respectable performance for a boat that size with all those amenities. Hopefully we'll see more of these big, fast, versatile designs from the other manufacturers.
