Boat Bling Engine Covers...thoughts?

What do you guys think of these for those boring engine compartments with the 496 HO's? Look sharp or don't do anything for you?

Regarding the product itself, does anyone care to comment?

there cool. i have the polished on my 496 but i should have went with the purple cause the polished shows everything. real hard to keep clean.

Just make sure they have the access ports for the Gear Oil, Oil Fill, etc....

Cass has some cool covers on his - but if you need to add/change the oil - they have to come off..... which can be a pain. Now I've got a small gear oil pump that I use for just engine oil when topping it off.

Do they make me more or less want to buy a boat with them on - NO. I think they look allright. I prefer customized painted engine covers rather than the cheap looking crome ones. Like maybe one that matches the paint of the boat. Hell just pull the old one off and send it up to the paint shop to match the boat.

I carefully taped off my stickers and painted mine yellow, looks much better I think. JC

I taped off the stickers also and had the paint color matched to my dash,, looks great and pretty inexpensive... Besides, i'm not going to sit at the dock w/ my engine hatch open so passer-by's can see my H.O..

Boat bling covers on 496's are nice, But I THINK ITS WHATS UNDER THE COVER THAT COUNTS! We have a nice bling cover for the top of our manifolds on the Raylar kit equipped 496's and they got what it takes under the cover too!

Ray @ Raylar

Ray, if you order one of your kits do you need to get RAYLAR on top of the cover or do you have other options...just curious no offense just do not know if I want RAYLAR on the top of my cover..

Check out www.customcowlings.com I had my 496s in the Fountain blinged out with there stuff and it looked good. No need to remove to add or change oil. Its a little extra work to keep clean but anything that looks good is.

The boat bling covers are fantastic! A much nicer piece of hardware than the cutom cowlings IMHO. I am very happy with mine.

As far as having access to the fluid fills such. It's not a big deal. It's 3 allen head screws which take all of 30 seconds to remove...

I don't have 496's, but from what I have seen, the boat bling cowlings look great. Patrick from boat bling has some of the best customer service out there, and I think that I've seen custom cowlings from boat bling before.

Boat bling also makes some great cleaning products!!
