Default Computer Help ?????

I thought I would give this a try........... at work I have a new computer with the Windows VISTA operating system on it. I work for a construction company as an estimator and we use AGTEK 3D. I was wondering if anyone on OSO has worked with this combination. I am having an extreme amount of trouble with the AGTEK program (even there tech support is baffled) Well to my problem--- while entering in data in AGTEK, the computer just cuts off. No warning or anything. Its like the plug was pulled out the wall. It has done this 10 times today.

Any help would be appreciated

Oh and to keep this boating related, I plan on having several boat sodas whil sitting on the swim platform this evening to help calm my nerves from today!!!

Thanks in advance for any help.

So it actually powers off?

Sounds like a power supply problem if is losing power.

Does it do it any other time or only when using this one application? How much memory in your PC? Is the osftware approaved for Vista? I know there are a lot of compatability issue with Vista.

it only does it using this particular application. I think I have fixed it (knock on wood). There is an option for a power saving plan. I switched it to never cut the computer off and haven't had a problem fixed. so now I am just want to go and sit on the boat and have that beverage!!!

I like your thinking, headed to the lake in the next hour. Can't get there fast enough.

Glad you figured it out.
