My Dad sent this to me this morning.

This happened somewhere in the middle east.
If you look in picture, two, you can see one of the two men aboard riding the boat down.

Second picture is of an identical boat.

Those pix are from www.yachtforums.com
There has been an ongoing discussion about the boat for a few days.
If you look closely you can see the left arm of the second man hanging on for dear life.

The bow of that boat MUST have hit the bottom of the harbor then bounced back up. With the force that thing is falling and harbors aren't THAT deep......bummer. Probably a 1.5M to 2M boat.

Edward R. Cozzi 06-10-2007 05:34 PM

None of the marinas around here will lift or launch a boat with people on board. Doesn't matter if it's a fork or travel lift.

I think the forward sling broke.

The front strap slipped forward taking the anchor and part of the bow rail with it. In the picture of it going down, you can see the anchor chain flying up:eek:

MonsterDave 06-11-2007 09:12 PM

That's freakin nuts! WTF! Amateurs. :blaster:

delsol 06-11-2007 09:45 PM

Judging by the cranes in the background __ I'd bet that harbour is pretty deep -- probably didn't hit bottom, but sure didn't come right side up!

Looks like there were 2 guys onboard, wonder where the other guy was riding??
