I have put about 300 hours on a 2004 240 sea ray sundeck that my parents bought. It holds 12. Not fast or anything, but a real pleasure to drive. Currently it is one of sea ray's best selling boats. Most dealers I have talked to can not keep them in stock. The lines are really classy. I think in the non-performance deckboat catagory under 26ft they are one of the best choices on the market. Cobalt also makes one sweet azz deckboat, but they are just a little too much money.

What kind of deckboat are you looking for - performance, non-performance, 24ft or up to 30ft?

I think those performance deckboats are just a little too dangerous. It just takes one big roller to get the boat out of the water at speed, which I consider very dangerous with a boat full of people in lounge seats.

I agree with the 240 Sundeck. Great boat that is built to Sea Ray standards. I had a '98 240 Sundeck with a 305 in it for three years and loved it. The deadrise allowed it to handle the rough water at LOTO as well as you could expect any 24' boat to do. Upper teens would get a nice one.

My dads got a hurricane with a 5.0 and OMC Cobra outdrive.....with a full boat of 12 people (mix of kids and adults) we can pull a tube and still do 35mph around the lake....they are awesome. His is a 1986 20 or 21' model and he wouldnt get rid of it if you put a gun to his head

We had a 03 Eliminator 27 Fundeck with a 496. Great boat but it wasn't real practical for us so we didn't keep it but one season and it went Lake Havusu.

I would consider one. Am currently looking at Jet Boats, but the Hurricame may be a better value? Although I am in Florida - don't know if it's pratical to pay for it being hauled down here. Please post info and picks.

Thank you, Mark

I will get the details and some picks tomorrow. He also sells trailers. Post an add on OSO, there is always someone headed down to Florida. I know both are new leftovers, and have been stored inside since being delivered from the manufacture.
