Baja Boss Hammer Prop Advice

Recently acquired a 97 22' Boss Hammer with frozen 330 454. Replaced with 425hp 454HO GM Performace crate motor. I know didly about props and the boat came with what appears to be a mildly damaged and poorly repaired 3 blade 24 "Mirage". Is this prop a good place to start and to have rebuilt or is there a must have prop for this combo? thanks

yes. sounds like a good starting point, you will probably like to try a 25 3 blade or a worked 26 4 blade.

I consider myself somewhat of an expert on Baja Hammers.

I can tell you, without a doubt, that a 3 blade Mirage Plus is the BEST prop for this hull. A 23 pitch is a great choice. If you spin too many rpms with that HO engine, go up to a 25 pitch.

I owned a Hammer for several years and did many modifications and tried many props. My last engine was a beefed 496 stroker spinning a 25 Mirage Plus.
