duunoit 06-10-2007 06:45 PM

Congrats. I love that show.

How long had you been trying?

Edward R. Cozzi 06-10-2007 06:48 PM

Cool! Don't forget to post closer to the date for us senile old f'ers that forget easily. Best of luck.

Offshoreracr 06-10-2007 06:48 PM

Very cool! Congrats.

Dreamer1q 06-10-2007 07:32 PM

The car club I own and run challenged a rival Michigan car club. Sort of a east (them) vs west (us).

We built a 89 Mustang GT with a reworked LS1. Little spray, little forged, little transbrake :D

Should air this winter. I will post up some pictures when its back from the paint shop. Right now its UGLY with a capital U!

JPD Motorsports 06-10-2007 08:18 PM

My paint guy out here in OK did the black mustang with real fire. Took home the wooly mammoth car and the honda civic that they returned to him. Good luck

Fenderjack 06-10-2007 09:52 PM

John

Sydwayz 06-10-2007 09:56 PM

Make sure you wear an OSO shirt and get some OSO stickers on the car. :D

MikaylaHunterCig 06-10-2007 11:12 PM

Wooly Mammoth never ran right after Charles sold it to the other guy who raced it next.

We were going to race on PINKS last season but ended up doing something different.

Good luck. Charles (Tech adviser) on the show is a good friend of mine. Hopefully, you get him on your side.

It's called not having a clue how to make a ford run fast.So what people do is drop in a GM create motor in a ford platform.

Not a joke. Many street rods, customs and race cars that have classic Ford bodies have Chevy power.

Why, you ask?

Availablity
Adaptability
Power-to-weight ratio
More bang for the buck
More aftermarket parts
Breathes better at all RPMs

The list goes on and on. Why do you think all the major marinizers use Chevy power?

Dreamer1q 06-11-2007 07:51 AM

Going fast on a budget is the key. When we agreed to the race, we said it had to be Grass Roots style. No dropping the car off at the go fast shop. Had to be done as cheaply as possible.

The car was given to us as a shell, and the majority of our members are running some form of the LSx based motor. The block was donated, the Lunati Rods, and Mahle pistons were donated, the intake was laying in my garage, the coils were in my garage, etc..........

It made it cheap. And besides, the LSx motors are much better at breathing then the Ford motors. Easier to make them fast IMO.

Dont worry, the car we are racing against is a 351 on the squeeze in a 81 Thunderbird. So you still get your Ford fix, and hopefully I can take their junk home :D

zitoracing 06-11-2007 08:16 AM

Best of Luck to you hope you when there Junk like you said.

We're all in your corner. Go kick some ass and take names later!

Dreamer1q 06-11-2007 08:59 AM

Where can I get the OSO stickers? We have whored the car out pretty well so far, but I KNOW I have room for a OSO decal on there somewhere.

NoQuarter 06-11-2007 12:03 PM

Too Cool!

I will be watching for sure!

Good luck!

Tom

What was the out come of this? Any video?

Keytime 07-09-2008 11:45 AM

Awfully quiet. Maybe the Chevy in the Ford didn't work out so well after all? :grinser010:

Dreamer1q 07-09-2008 11:55 AM

We actually took the first 3 of 7. But lost the last 4 in a row with the final race decided by a fender at about 147mph. Good races, and alot of people say I gave them the car, and that may be true. Guess you will just have to look for it. Season 5 episode 2 I believe. Kansas City, Rick vs Quentin

sommerfliesby 07-09-2008 12:07 PM

Awesome! I love that show as well...I'll be looking for the episode...if you find out exactly when it's gonna air, post it. Congrats on having the nuts to do it!

birdog 07-09-2008 12:13 PM

It was just on.....

socalstone 07-09-2008 12:52 PM

PINKS was a great show. It's run it's course though and they are done for a while -possibly permanently.

PINKS All Out is running strong though and is taping shows in Engilshtown, NJ on July26th - Denver, CO on August9th - and Infineon Raceway Sept6th for anyone who is interested in showing up. The events are huge -drawing 20,000 spectators. Loads of fun.

Grassroots Drag racing at its best!

ps- New Season of PINKS All Out begins next Thursday July17th 9et /10pt
