Merc 600SCI who has them

im looking at few boats with merc 600sci, i am debating between 525 or the 600, who has first hand with the 600sci and how many hours do you have on them and any problems. how many hours can i expect out of them and im talking babying them not beating the crap out of them.

Had them. Loved them. put 90 hrs on them with no problems at all. Good power all the way to the top. Not that bad on gas really. I ran 1075's this weekend - BAD ON GAS :)

I've got a 600sci in a single vee. - love the motor. Everyone knows you can't go wrong with the 525s, but if you want more power in a still-reliable package the 600 is hard to beat. Seems fine on fuel just cruising around.... -almost surprisingly so. At w.o.t. it's pretty thirsty- but it sounds so good you won't care.

Mentlepause..John Tillery has a pair in a 43 Sunsation. I believe 85 hours, no problems at all, try to PM him.

Yup, PM Mentalpause. These motors are the berries. You'd never know they were blower motors until you hear them whine.

A guy at our marina has a 51OL with (3) 600's. He has gone boating every weekend for the past 2 years without any problems.

He told me the 600's are way better on fuel than the 575's he had in his last boat.

The only way to keep a 575 happy is to have a super tanker following you where ever you go.

What does the new 600 sell for (less drive and headers)? What is the OEM's cost on this package versus retail price?
