Carerra 2002 Wakeboard Tower
I'm looking to put a tower on my Carerra 2002 body type 202xr. The mfg. states that the mounts need to be reinforced. Does anyone have experience with towers on this boat? Any suggestions on which tower to purchase?

Welcome to the board but you may have a hard time finding answers to questions about ski boats. Most of the people here are Offshore boaters. You might try a wakeboard forum like Fin suggested. Good Luck in your search for answers.

Chances are, I probably built your boat or at least was in the shop when it was being built. I worked for Carrera from 1998-2003.
What you will want to do is to have someone go in, grind down the glass where the mounts are going to go. Put a piece of 1/2" plywood where the tower is going to mount and glass it in place. Try to do at minimum of a 4"x4" square with the edges radiused so they won't flex into the boat. If you are attaching the tower to raw glass, you will have nothing but problems when it comes to stress cracks or gel dings. Just my .02

I built a tower for my 20 Chris Craft Bowrider and made 4x6 backing plates out of 0.125 thick stainless steel for mounts.
