Thumbs up All major projects here....

I am in the midst of a total rebuild and I was thinking it would be inspiring to all of us that may need it, to tell your stories about what you are doing. When doing projects as big as mine I often feel discouraged about how much work and money it is going to take. I always have that little voice in the back of my head that says to just give up and write the boat off with all my other loses in the last 2 years, but I know if I do not do this project that I will not be able to get another boat for at least a couple of years. It has been almost 2 years ago that I last went out in my boat and there is not a day that goes by that I do not think about the exhilarating feeling of being in a powerboat doing 60-70 mph. I am a full on powerboat junkie without a boat to get my fix on. So back to my point on this thread....If you are doing any kind of major work on your boat that is making it unable to get wet then let's hear about it. I know most of you guys are in a constant state of upgrades so I expect this thread to be up for some time. I would love to see pics of ongoing work as well as any tips on things you may have learned the hard way. My next step is painting my hull and I will post some pics of the progress. So let's help each other out and get this going. Thanks guys.

Chuck

Ok brother don't feel down, nothing great is accomplished in a day. Last time I even got in a boat was last October 12,2006, you know it's bad when you remember the exact date!
Anyway my project is a 1985 24' Scorpion SS here is a pic as it sits now. Will hopefully end up as 3man or 6pack. Power wil initially be the current 454/400cyclone but will then be upgraded as time and $ allow.

Hope this will offer a little inspiration. Purchased July 2005 and finally splashed December 2006.

My current project is having Ron Potter re build all three engines so I am down until the end of this month. It will be almost 6 weeks and I am missing the big guy. Here are pics of the first 2 engines , with last one near completion. Almost hope it does not sell !!

Here is real cool running shot of your boat. Taken at the fund raiser for Jennifer Molter. Thank you for your support.

Anybody have a good story on something you may have done yourself that was not quite right and had to do it over? Any trial and error??

hey capn,
i've spent EVERY spare moment for the last 8 months re-doing what i thought was gonna be fairly minor things on my 377. i've alternately felt frustrated, happy, overwhelmed ,discouraged and pleased. one of the main ways that i've kept my sanity is to keep a list and just kept checking every small thing off of that list. from an original list of about 220 items, i'm down to the last 6 things. oddly, nothing really looks that drastically different but the boat is stronger and tighter. next year the list is gonna be more limited in scope. just keep taking it one item at a time and your project will finish. good luck - jeff
