Best $200 ive EVER SPENT! (20 mins in a 47' lightning, triple 525's)

Saw a guy pull up and dock in a nice 47' lightning. Went over and started shooting the shiit with him, and told him id pay to go ride in that. Well he took me up on it, said he would give me 20 mins for $200, so i whipped out 2 bills and went for a ride.

Holy Hell, triple 525's made me wet my pants. I have no earthly idea how fast we were going (he said around 80) but mother of mary Ive never had so much fun or ridden in a beast like that. The guy was cool as hell, said he just recently got it.

ive got to say, i have no idea how much that boat cost, nor could I afford it, but I havent had that much fun in 10 years!

how would a cat hull handle different than the fountain hull in the rough water?

So I imagine you will be calling Frankie at Pier 57 Monday morning? :D

You never know what he might have until you pick the phone up. You could be riding in one with that much power by next weekend.

Welcome to the addiction!

yea, im in Lake Tahoe currently, and with the Lake Wind Advisory in effect today, I cannot get over how well it handled the HUGE waves. Local marinas were calling all their smaller rental boats in due to the lake condition, and his fountain just freakin flew like it was on glass! I cannot believe that thing, I am officially snake bit. I gotta have one! (much smaller of course, maybe something in the 30's length wise :D )

you read my mind, im calling him about 9am Monday when I get back to the Dallas area.

The owner of the boat said there was a guy out on the lake today that would walk his boat, said it was a 50' foot or so cat running almost 2000 horsepower with his setup. I cant imagine a boat faster than that thing.

just wondering, for an entry level person for their first boat of this type (stepping up from a cobalt) what could I get in the neighborhood of $100k-120k? New or Used.
