Help starting a boat detailling business
 

I'm a friend of Rushs and using his computer for the day. I am currently trying to start a marine detailing business and would like some input on how this service is priced. Any help at all would be greatly appriciated.

Boats can be tricky to price lots of stuff to factor in.

I would say price it by the foot. May want to have x amount per foot for basic exterior was. Then extra x amount per foot to wax. Same thing for interior. And maybe a package deal for wash,wax,interior. Good luck:cool:

A few weeks ago, Gino (Lubejobs) was talking about how he started his quick lube business. His first move was to go out an apply for a job working at one. Kind of funny to me at first- a millionaire working a minimum-wage job. After thinking about it, how better to learn all the ins and outs of the biz.

You don't need much money at all to start one up for boat detailing. Talk to marineclean - he has been extrememly successful in cleaning boats and now owns his own line of cleaners and some other stuff.

Our detailing service prices every 5 feet. So 25-30, 30-35, 35-40 etc. and they have different packages for each size boat - Wax, just clean, shampoo, vinyl conditioner etc.

I just use them to wax and buff every spring to get the oxidation off. You really need to education yourself first on all the different cleaners - some of this stuff is so toxic you need to wear a mask and if you don't know what you are doing you can ruin a boat

Get hooked up with at least one local marina to get regular clientele. Then branch out to other marinas. It's the steady work that is going to allow you to grow your operation.
