If you want calmer and warmer, hit up the north end of Lake St. Clair. Muscamoot bay is where the party is at most weekends. Gull Island is nice too, but a little quieter except on Jobbienooner weekends. Mardi Gras has nothing on Jobbienooner.

Lake St. Clair does get stirred up a lot during the weekend, but not as bad as Lake Erie gets if a storm comes up. Lake Erie can get really bad really fast if the wind kicks up from the right direction. I've seen 10-12's on Lake Erie, and they get worse than that, I don't think i've ever seen bigger than 6' on Lake St. Clair, maybe 6-8's in the fall, and 3-4 is about the worst you'll see most of the season.

Hey I have made it twice to the Sandusky area so I know it is possible you just have to get north of canada, and yes it is exotic we dont let everyone up here. One of the nice things up here is that you dont have to flush your engines when done boating for the day, not so sure about erie.
