Mp3

Where is the best place to get music for my MP3. I'm not looking for a free site, but I don't want to pay $3 a song either. I thought I was pretty good with a computer until I bought this stupid thing.

Napster, Itunes, they charge only .99 per song. Who charges 3.00 a song?

Give Limewire a shot, Ive used it and it works pretty well.

I've heard plenty of people rag on iTunes, but I've been using it for a couple of years now with no complaints at all.

Now if I weren't using an iPod, I might have chosen a different service to buy songs from.

I was on limewire, how the hell do you get the song that was downloaded onto the player?

pkspx 06-28-2007 08:18 AM

If you're looking for a free file sharing program, I suggest downloading and installing Lime Wire LITE. It's free and doesn't include adware/spyware.

It lists the downloaded songs in the media library, you should be able to play the mp3s through your default music player for example, media player or winamp.

This is actually a good thing thing to do anyway, before you add them to your ipod or mp3 player or whatever. Listen to the song through your default music player and check its quality. Every once in a great while through Limewire, Ill get a song that isnt the greatest quality. So, it saves time, so you can go back and re download it before you add it to your ipod or what not.

Napster is a flat fee per month with unlimited downloads and you can put them on your MP3 player but you don't own the songs so if you membership lapses you loose the songs after a while

I personally like Limewire :)

Exactly what I do before I make CDs. Anytime I download from limewire I typically only download 128 or 192 bit rate files. 192 is CD quality.

very true, i remember you posted this comment along time ago so i set out to find an example. go download Robert Plants "Walking Toward Paradise" in MP3 than listen to it on the original CD . . . HUGE difference and that was one of the earliest full digital mixes. I do still use Mp3's because of the convenience but there is a difference.

I can hear the difference over 300K. It depends on the system really. If you are driving your boat up the river and want something to listen to then heck record at 64K. XM radio is at I think 44K and Sirrius is at 64k for music if memory serves me correctly. Some say that 128 is the same as CD quality but if you listen on a even midfy system most people can hear the difference. Some times you have to have the nuances pointed out. It also depends on the ability of the device to take the MP3 and convert it out to music. Some do a much better job then others. I love music so I find it hard to listen to the stuff at home but when I am in my truck Sirruis is fine over the rumble of the motor and road noise :drink:

cut and paste depeding on the player and software. If your using an ipod... i open itunes, then open wherever the music is stored from the download, then drag it into itunes.

Thank you,

I thought that I was the only one that thinks mp3 sounds like chit. I converted some mp3 to Cd and tried it on my home system. Listened for about 5 seconds and threw out the CD.
Straight plug in of my Ipod to my home system or my Bose system in the avalanche sounds like an old transistor radio.
Back to buying CDs and vinyl from the store.
