NJPPC names Scott Applegate & Team JusTruckin
2006 Performance Powerboaters of the Year!
Toms River, NJ, June 22nd, 2007 - The New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club (NJPPC) earlier this month hosted it’s annual Atlantic City Poker Run at Trump Marina Hotel & Casino. On that evening it was announced that Scott Applegate and JusTruckin team members Dave & Judy Redding and Peter & Leona Hodge were inducted into NJPPC’s Hall of Fame as 2006 Performance Powerboaters of the Year.
Scott Applegate – Scott was the founder and owner of the Poker Run & Offshore race team JusTruckin. Scott joined NJPPC in 1999. Scott attended the NJPPC Atlantic City Poker Run last summer which unfortunately was his last poker run and ride in his 42 Outerlimits. Scott succumbed to his battle with cancer on August 26th, 2006. Scott was only 38 years old.
Scott Applegate was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a vibrant person who made a lasting impression on everyone who met him. Scott was a fun loving person with a passionate "need for speed." Scott was a strong supporter of NJPPC and especially the club’s charitable events including Shore Dreams For Kids and Operation Santa.
Dave & Judy Redding – Dave & Judy met Scott in summer of 2000. Dave was a former offshore racer that Scott persistently sought out to teach him how to go racing offshore. Dave advised him that at the age of 56 he needed to seek a younger guy. Shortly there after Dave became Scott’s driver and won many races and poker runs from 2000 to 2004. Dave was a perfect team mate for Scott. They were both “big kids” and shared the same passion for speed! Dave can be found at most NJPPC events with his lovely wife Judy who enjoys speed almost as much as Dave..
Peter & Leona Hodge – Peter & Leona met Scott through the Redding ’s and quickly became members of Team JusTruckin. Peter shared the same common bond with Scott and Dave. He is also a “big kid” and shares the same passion for speed and performance boating. Peter can be found at most NJPPC events with his lovely wife Leona.
All of these people have been strong supporters of New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club over the years and what the club stands for. They all have shared the same passion for performance powerboating as well as being ambassadors of kindness, generosity and have the thirst for speed on the water. They are all deserving of being named 2006 NJPPC Performance Powerboaters of the Year.

About the New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club
The New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club (NJPPC) was founded in 1999 and has over 200 members. The NJPPC is a members-run club that’s charter is to provide its members with top quality Poker Runs and other exciting events. It enthusiastically welcomes a broad cross-section of performance powerboaters to join the club. Its schedule is planned considering both smaller and larger boats. Consequently, its membership spans from owners of 18’ to 50’ boats!
Distinct from other Poker Run organizations, the club chooses to limit the number of event participants to assure safety, promote camaraderie and to facilitate a well-run, enjoyable day for all involved. The limited number also affords access to the highest quality marine facilities such as Trump Marina Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City . The club has no profit motivation prompting it to host the biggest events – but it is strongly motivated to run the best events and in that way, everybody profits! NJPPC membership is required to participate in the club Poker Runs.
For further information please visit the club’s website at: http://www.njppc.com. NJPPC can be contacted via telephone at 732 674-2946, via email at [email protected] or via mail at: Dave Patnaude – President, NJPPC, 604 North End Ave , Toms River, NJ 08753.

A big thank you to Scott for the best 3 days of incredible sunshine and warm boating weather for our run to Atlantic City. No doubt in my mind he was looking over us all that day...
He is missed but not forgotten......
