Default Pro-Series Takes Part in 23rd Annual Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix

Offshore Pro-Series Joins SBI/APBA at Sarasota Offshore Festival

July 6, 2007 : The 3rd stop on the Pro-Series 2007 Tour drew record crowds as neither torrential rains (during the parade), nor the midsummer Florida heat could keep Sarasota offshore fans from enjoying the 23rd Annual Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix sanctioned by SBI/APBA.
With more than 45 race boats competing in this annual community festival, which takes place over a ten day period, the Sarasota fans got to mingle with some of the sports premier teams as they battled it out in the warm offshore gulf waters.

Kevin Brown, the event producer and his staff of volunteers and race officials are to be congratulated on a terrific job in not only making this an exceptional offshore event for the racing participants but also for rallying the numerous sponsors and community merchants in creating this festive venue.
As for the Pro-Series teams that competed in their respective classes, the event was a huge success. Pro-Series member Bryan Haupt, owner/throttleman of All Jacked UP commented; ”The teams Meet and Greet session put on by SBI, for the fans, at the Hyatt Hotel ballroom was a real novel idea. We along with the other teams must have signed a couple hundred autographs. It really added a whole new level of professionalism to the sport.”

For the Pro-Series it was all good …… and the Sunday evening awards ceremonies were particularly sweet for Reliable Carriers Offshore Racing, as both Reliable boats took the checkered flag in their respective classes.

Next stop for the Series is the Detroit Gold Cup race sanctioned by DRRA on July 13-15 in Detroit Michigan, where the Pro-Series cats will be sharing the stage with the other “big cats”, the Unlimited Hydroplanes. Don’t miss this action packed weekend as these giants battle it out on this historic race course!

The Offshore Pro-Series Tour is comprised of a consortium of professional offshore powerboat racing teams that compete on a nationwide circuit of powerboat races, sanctioned by DRRA, OSS, SBI, OPA, and POPRA. In 2007 the Tour includes the following scheduled races:
St. Cloud, Florida (SBI) March 30 - April 1
Ocean City, Maryland (OPA) June 15 - June 17
Sarasota, Florida (SBI) June 29 - July 1
Detroit, Michigan (DRRA) July 13 - July 15
St. Clair, Michigan (OPA) July 27 - July 29
