The New OL 50 cat

The Nor-Tech 50 cat

The MTI 55 cat

Skater's 46 cat

Mystic's 50 cat



And let the manufacturer select the drive that works best with their hull.

WOW i just checked this thread at lunch and 57 views and no opinions? I'll venture out on the limb and say that the Mystic 50 would be the fastest and probobly the best riding boat also, next to an Apache of course!

Well, my guess is that not too many people are fortunate enough to have first hand experience with any of those boats.

you think with nearly 7 feet less of running surface the mystic would out "ride" a 55 MTI?

i would say the mystic probably would be the fastest as well, but there are too many different variables here, canopies, huge open cockpits, different running lengths, cabins and what not...

Skater assuming all are canopied boats and set up with no cabins or frills.

I am leaning towards the Mystic,I am guessing its lighter than the Skater,unless they redesigned the Skater ,made it lighter,cut down the deck etc.

The Nortech is heavy.

The Outerlimits is too new and not proven.The same way the Ballistic boat wouldnt run a #.

MTI could be ,havent heard anything on the 55's.

Again weight and lenght will play a roll:p :p

This was incredible, (1st pic), this is unbelievable, (2nd pic)!!

at 4,000lbs for a 50' hull, I dont think it would even be close, Mystic, If it was'nt the fastest why would the biggest names in offshore racing be racing them, Cosker is at the top now.but a new midwestern made hull will soon be on the scene that will challenge for top dog.

I going to make a guess here as to this new cat that will challange for Top Dog, a 2009 488 Skater LP Race deck?:D

The boat is long enough and light enough to run direct drives with struts with a center rudder. Running direct drives would make the package very reliable and damage resistant. Not sure how they trim it though.

The Mystic's BPM surface drives have a trim cylinder in the vertical strut that attaches the aft section of the drive to the hull. It's fully trimable.
