Who needs a new stereo....for free?

Here's the deal.

I was sent some incredible stereo speakers (4 - 6" and one 12" woofer plus amp) from Thunder Marine and hoped to install it in my neighbors new (to him) 2006 TG Unlimited. But the boat already had a similar system so why mess with it.

So I now need a volunteer! Here's what's required.

1. Must be in the Toms River NJ area.
2. Must be willing to do a full install - cut holes for speakers.
3. Must have a head end - I only have speakers and amp.
4. Must be willing to pay for anything not included with speakers.
5. Must be willing to use boat in photo shoot.
6. Must be willing to crank it up and have girls dance on deck.
7. Must know girls willing to dance on deck in bikinis!

Any takers?

If more than one person replies, we might have to turn this into a fun raffle or something. Ideas on how to choose the right boat with the best accustics?

Bring the stuff to St Clair next week. We can put it in my boat after the race!!!

Ron I could do the installation for you if you like. Lots of boats available to me. Could take pictures for you and give my opinion on the equipment. Next two weeks will be slow work weeks for me in Maine so it could work out well.

Jon

Audiofn 07-18-2007 01:03 PM

Not sure you want any Maine women in your shots however   :drink: :drink:

Ron P 07-18-2007 01:05 PM

I think the sub may dissassemble your old resin bucket at the molecular level.:D

Your in Joisey so it can't be too far. Send me a PM if your truly interested in putting some big holes in your boat.

Jon

What kind of boats do you have available?

I'd really like to be able to see the way it installs and even give a hand.

Audiofn 07-18-2007 01:09 PM

Probably Cig 38, Sutphen 26 footer, Cig Mistique (sp), Donzi........

Audiofn 07-18-2007 01:10 PM

Not a far drive for ya and I can assure you we would have fun!!!! LOL

Ron P 07-19-2007 04:53 PM

Anyone closer or Jon gets the system.

wellcraftg 07-19-2007 07:52 PM

I hope you can make the install quicker than the one Biggus is STILL waiting on.He said bikinis not winter wear.

hunster 07-19-2007 08:36 PM

C' mon guys , I'll do the install ......( bring me beer ) . I'm sure one of you from navesink would go for it. I have 2/10" sub holes or i'd jump in there. Nick must need some stereo work on the concept by now . I know a sonic 31 a year old that would like it. He ran out of money after the gps and cameras in the engine room (spare drives ate up the rest of the budget).

jdub 07-19-2007 08:57 PM

I'll do it. I'm about an hour or so from you. When and where?

FeverMike 07-19-2007 09:00 PM

I say AudioFn is the most qualifed and could really use this deal.

Audiofn 07-19-2007 09:44 PM

Hunster pick up Ron P. and the speakers and head north. I will make sure you get the golf cart ride of your life :D:D

Sorry dude you can not fix speakers after the coils are welded shut because the previous installer that drives a red Scarab only hooked up one side of the dual voice coil sub....  I like to work with nice new stuff not speakers that looked like they were retreived off the Titanic :evilb:

J-Bonz 07-19-2007 10:09 PM

Can you raffle the girls off to put on my boat?
Jr

Hunster.....what size holes we talking here...... I have the 5" in the rear bench already. I mean, I don't want a whoopty mobile that's thumpin down the river.. :D

If the speakers and amp are free, we do the install, what else could there be other than some minor wiring for the AMP....

You know my boat...so what would be involved and not overkill...

hunster 07-20-2007 08:55 AM

Leave the 6.5's in the cabin as you said. We'll put another set of the 6's in the cockpit and replace the existing ones. You have a new head with all the preouts you need for amp and thats all good. You have the new remote at the helm . Sub in the rear seat base. Bam your boat is pimped!!!!! We'd some wire and interconnects for the amp and speakers and some time , Thats all. Have to talk to Piccolo and see if he'd send the deck dancers over for the photo shoot!!!!!

We have a winner.

John Wilson will be putting this new system into his redone 27' Excalibur.

Yes, its the MTX system with the 1800 watt amp. Hope the glue on that old boat holds up to the pounding!!!

Funny thing is my stereo in my boat has stopped working. Had a guy over just today and it is getting power but the Kenwood head unit is toast we guessed. Perfect, just out of warranty too.

I call that job security. Sorry to hear that. On the good side I have some kenwood head leftovers from last year still if you want I'll look and give you a cost deal to get them gone!!

The o/l has some good stuff in it! A bunch of alpine amps , new heads in and out new speakers. What we have to fix is the cabin speakers where they were shorted out from the cabin door now that you got that fixed. I pulled the fuses to the amp for the starboard side til we got them fixed. You only have 1/2 of the speakers working inside. Call me when you are ready. I know you'll bring the beer!!!! :drink:
