Default Best way to sell my CC?

Hey All,

I need some thoughts and insight here. I want to sell my 328 SCX Glasstream Performance CC. I am looking for suggestions on the best way to sell the boat. I have placed it in Boat Trader, OSO, and Ebay. I got no calls from Boat Trader, 1 from OSO, and about 20 from EBay. Unfortunately there are a bunch of tire kickers and wholesalers who showed interest from Ebay. I am now thinking about listing it with a broker. Do any of you know of any good brokers who specialize in performance CC’s.

Thanks,

Clark

a broker will typically charge 10%, the only place they get exposure you don't is really just yachtworld.com

my theory is you are better off discounting 10% and advertising on your own, ymmv but if you are willing to do the legwork you are better off saving the 10%

Thanks for the insight. I have it priced at wholesale....The boat is 9.5 out of 10 with warranties thru 08...

Any other suggestions on where to post or how to get the word out?

Clark

Try the Yatch Traders performance boat section.

Clark,

Try http://www.thesaltydog.com/

Its a pretty targeted market toward the Chesapeake Bay, and from the sounds of it; your boat might fit the area well.

Thanks for the help Brian and Mike. I thought about keeping it but I have decided that I don’t want the carrying (insurance, high and dry, ect…) cost of two boats. Time to be more proactive with it…

Clark Thats a good suggestion from Sydwayz. CCs are very popular in our area because of all the fantastic fishing. The Chesapeake Bay would be a good home for it.

Make sure you get it in the PRINT version; and I'd aim for doing it soon. The Richmond, VA and Washington DC boat shows are the same week as the Miami Boat show, and there will be a lot of print versions distributed accordingly. Just about anywhere you go near the water in a 5 state area here, there are print version of the Salty Dog available, restaurants, marinas, shops, etc.
