That is amazing, he nust have been asleep below deck and the boat was at full throttle. Crap he went over 100 ft, he was lucky he hit the only channel:angry-smiley-044: How in the world do you get that off, you would have to turn it around to drag it.

BTW how is Orange Beach these days and is the Florabama up and running? |
I just got back from a weeks vacation from Orange Beach/Perdido Key. The flora-bama is up and running. Our condo is the fourth high rise on the beach on the Florida side of the flora bama.
After the hurricane, I went to check out our condo, and the whole first floor of the building was gutted. Our lobby was gone, pool full of sand, all messed up. Through all of the damage, somehow, the Flora Bama made it through. It sustained major damage, but is still open today thanks to a bunch of tents. I have to find my pics of the mullet toss from this year. Construction is heavy in Orange Beach. Property values are at a all time high. There are several high rise complexes being built on the Alabama side. I guess the extremely high insurance hike is keping most of the new construction in Al. 300k condo 5 years ago is worth 1 mil now. We live 5 hours away from Orange Beach, and try to visit once every 6-8 weeks. |
That's f****ing great!!! And I'm worried about hitting a sandbar or a shallow shoal. Another reason not to whoop it up and get behind the wheel:party-smiley-020:

My parents live in Sunrise Beach - I was over there today and it's gone.

A lot of other barges and cranes tried while USCG kept watch, no one able to budge until this last successful effort. Big bucks spent to recover this thing and now it is supposedly heading to Grant's Marina to be repaired and put back on the water in a week  Your parents must have checked it out while 'moored' for 2 weeks .. it was quite the attraction there for a while. |
