"a couple small issues" "always had parts the next day" For $13,000 , it should be flawless and bulletproof ! Three things to note. On paper the warranty expired and the drives were sold to someone else who didn't transfer the warranty. In the warranty papers you must state your engine configuration so that it is covered under warranty. Thirdly, if it were my company I would probably work with the customer to resolve the issue in good faith... Maybe not pay 100% but surely work out a deal. |

This unfortunatly is the second person (friend) that I know that has had speed loss and both had drives break or problems in similiar sized boats. I am so over these bravo drives or band aid like drives, they are all the same. Drives with trannies are the only way to go, when in the 37' and larger sized boat with over 500 hp, period.

You are so right. I was talking to Galen at Speedmasters, who's been working on drives since Christ was a carpenter, about the aftermarket drives. He was talking about one that is basically a Bravo drive, with the shift mechanism taken out, requiring a transmission. He asked me, "What do you have when you take the shift out of the drive?". His answer, "A Trs drive". He is a big fan of Trs drives.
Even the NXT uses a bravo style cone clutch as a transmission. If you have the dinero, there's no substute for a #6 or a "full out" arneson. |

I agree, the Arneson that I have driven, (Hustler) was a great set up. Planned actually better and docked the same as the bravo. It does cost more but worth the coin, reliability. The straight 8's behind my diesels looked extremely stout, and evryone who I've talked to swear by them, I unfortunatly didnt keep the boat long enough to give any real long term feed back. Im am now building another 4300 with 700's and elected to not go with the NXT's, not that there bad, but know the #6's will be the best solution for my drives to NOT break. It might cost me some speed, but a few mph is worth me being on the water every weekend. Jeff |

I don't have a problem with a warranty term being expired or not transferring the warranty. The problem is reputation. The guy that bought my boat just wanted to get it fixed, he has money and wasn't even worried about the warranty. He just asked if Dean would take care of it. It doesn't hurt to ask. Dean couldn't even supply the parts if he bought them. That is ridiculous if you ask me. So even if the drive was under warranty you couldn't get it fixed. We definitely need a spot on this site for this kind of situation.
Dean, it's very one sided if you don't reply. This is what ruins reputations and decreases your sales. I know there are two sides of every story, but no reply leads me to believe I am right. |
