What do you want to know? They are great and have great customer service. Great engines. Can't wait until the drives come out. I understand they will debut at the Miami boat show in Feb. I suspect they will show us something.

I've heard everything from owners experiencing minor glitches to total failures but the thing that has seperated them from the rest has been their customer service.

I believe the biggest chink in their armour is the outdrive matchup, but hearing solutions are coming down the pipe!

cobra marty 07-26-2007 05:00 PM

Does anyony have the HP and TQ dyno sheets for the 3 motors?

Is that the new boat - white silver and blue I've seen running around? I knew it had v10s. The sounds is so much higher pitch.

Funny you should ask.

In the spring of 2006 I spent a whole bunch of money converting my 38 Fountain from perfectly good Mercury power to Ilmor power. I am sad to report that promises made to me by Ilmor that swayed my decision to make that commitment of both time and money have yet to be fulfilled.

I am a very patient person, and I fully realize that people get busy and a lone customer and his issues can sometimes fall between the cracks, but I have been patient enough - perhaps too patient.

I am glad that you started this thread so I could bring my dissatisfaction to someone else inside the company. I hope that Ilmor can finally address my issues as they have drug on, unresolved, for over a year now and that fact is killing my enthusiasm for boating.

I hope to hear from you guys soon,

Robert

You can see the pictures on the Velocity website or on your older Ilmor brochures. I had one of the very first Ilmor powered boats (41 Velocity)

Thanks,
Steve

What kind of issues are you having Robert? I am curious, as I have had Ilmor engines going on my 3rd year. Yet to be dissatisfied with anything or anyone there. The main problems that I am aware of with some issues with other Ilmor powered boats is the drives. When Ilmor produces their own drive, then these problems should go away.
Thanks,
Steve

Orange will work. I have a few rattle cans of paint.

On serious note any word on the new drives?

ILMORdude 07-27-2007 11:06 PM

No details, just be patient.....

ILMORdude 07-27-2007 11:14 PM

PS, the vapor lock issue has been fixed with updated pieces. If you are experiencing problems by all means contact service. If need be, myself or someone else will come fit the parts if needed.

It's nice to see some innovation in the industry. I really like the fact that these motors weigh 400+ lb lighter than a comparable Merc, are naturally aspirated, and the 5 header tubes on each side are just too cool.

I wonder how they will squeeze more than 700hp out of their next version . . .

ILMORdude 07-28-2007 08:50 PM

What, when and who made the repairs Jeff?
