Cigarette boats kill on land too!
Jerome Burdi | South Florida Sun-Sentinel
6:36 PM EDT, July 28, 2007 Deputies investigating a hit and run crash that occurred about 9 p.m. Friday west of West Palm Beach discovered Saturday the 19-year-old driver they were looking for died near the scene when his car fell in a ditch. A bicyclist discovered David Grajales' body in his 1996 Chevy Tahoe about 9 a.m. Saturday near Belvedere and Pike roads. The air bag was deployed but Grajales did not survive the crash, investigators said. The crash occurred when Grajales, who lived in suburban West Palm Beach, was headed eastbound on Belvedere Road and Angel Omar Cruz-Rosell, 45, of Loxahatchee, made a turn onto Belvedere Road from Pike Road headed west in his 2002 Ford van with a cigarette boat in tow. Deputies said the Chevy crashed into the trailer, splitting it in two. Cruz-Rosell was not injured. The investigation is ongoing and charges have not been filed. |
