I always say that my boat is not the fastest at 95 but it is the fastest at 80....

Seen a lot that happen.

I would be happy with a boat that could do 75 or so and still be able to handle the rough stuff. It's the 50k price range I have that is killing me. It seems that fast boats that can handle rough water are more in the 75k to 85k range or better. I would love to take a ride in a Fountain and then a Cigarette to see the difference between the 2 but like I said I don't have any friends that have any type of boat much less a powerboat. From what I have been told a Cig is going to holds it's value much more than a Fountain or whatnot. It's just hard trying to find one in my price range that will do the things I want it to. I really want something 29' or better. The 24' Outlaw seemed huge to me when I first bought it but then I saw a 36' Cig and I felt like I was in a johnboat!!!

Fountainguy... I live right by the Eden Isles entrance off of Hwy 11. There is a guy with a 29' Velocity down the street but I have not met him. I think he owns a place called Pit Stop. That is the name of his boat and he has it on his truck as well.
There is also a guy with a Cigarette (maybe a 36') with purple accents but I never met him either.

Mark... I should expect that comment from you:D When I bought the Baja I had no idea what the powerboat world was like. A buddy of mine always talked about an Outlaw SST that he rode in so I thought it was one of the best boats out there. I had no clue there were so many different brands of badazz boats. You have anymore probs with the outboards? I was thinking about something like that as well.....

fountainguy214 07-31-2007 03:41 PM

ya it isnt a velocity its a warlock ....i have met him and the guy with the purple accents ....have met him too a real good friend ......run with him alot

CAPTAIN CHUCK 07-31-2007 03:46 PM

Come to think of it now it is a warlock. I only saw it once from a distance. Where do you guys usually run to? Just in the lake? I hope I will be able to join the crew when I get something to replace the Outlaw.:D

I am going to really throw a monkey wrench in now...What about cats? Of course I know the giant Nor-tecs are bad azz but I am just a tad shy of being able to drop 400k on a boat, so what is a good rough water cat that is reasonably priced? I almost bought a HTM last year with a blown 502 but the deal fell through. What is available in the 50k range????

you wont buy a cat that runs in 5 to 6 footers for that money unless its old and tired and hungry for cubic $$$$$$$

CAPTAIN CHUCK 08-01-2007 04:27 PM

Thanks...That is what I thought but I figured I would at least ask. I see you have a Blue Dog painting.....Mr. George is a close family friend here in New Orleans. My grandfather has been friends with him for years. He does awesome work and is a super nice guy.

Take care,
Chuck
