I'm quite sure it won't get on plane on only one motor. Your probably pretty close on the hll wt, as best estimate with the motors was about 8000# from the guy who towed it up from FL.

Im pretty much convinced the right solution is a set of new motors, problem is how to get there.

I talked with the local Suzuki dealer, about 35k and didn't include removing the old motors (don't know what they wouldn't put that in their estimate).

I thought I'd found a potential solution with a good price on 250 XS Racing Sport Optimax motors, but it looks like they need 92 octane (not available at any of the fuel docks I use) and only comes with a 1.62 lower ratio which is probably too high.

I found a place who will setup a counter lower for the Yamaha for $1400. Have to check, but by the time it's installed I'd probably have as much in it as I could sell the motor for, which doesn't look attrative either.

So, still looking.
