Gee I must have been imagining the 10 years I spent in the boat lift business cutting all those stainless cables. Get a big pair of bolt cutters and it'll cut like butter.

Naturally the right tool would be perfect, but I don't see him buying cable cutters for 1 or 2 cuts. If he doesn't have the bolt cutters, a cutoff wheel works great as well.

Ill call your 10 years cutting weany boat lift cable and raise you 20 years in the material handling business. Cant cut a 100 ton wire rope with bolt cutters ..
Ever wonder why they are called " BOLT " cutters ?

Maybe what he meant is that bolt cutters crush & distort the bundle and don't cut cleanly. I'm sure you could cut cables with a hatchet if you were so disposed. It's just not the "best" way.

Thanks Chris , that is what I meant .. Never said nothing else would do the job ..Only that the proper tool always does it better.

My cheap bolt cutters want cut it ,it made a mess of the test picse. I did use a cut off wheel, but it still wants to unravel. The factory wire looks like it has some kind of soldier on it?

The pick on the MSD coil I cut with a cut off wheel.the other look cut with a torch or something?

I have a small little hand held torch, what about the solder?

I also have the liquid electrical tape ,will that be strong enough to hold it together?
