Exclamation Glen Cove Date has moved!!!

Immediate Release:
August 3, 2007
NATIONAL POWERBOAT ASSOCIATION

In solidarity with High Performance Powerboat events on Long Island, we are forgoing the running of the Manhasset Bay Gold Cup Powerboat Poker Run this August 25th, 2007 to support the Offshore Powerboat Race taking place on the Great South Bay out of Patchogue , NY on Sunday, August 26th, 2007. There will be events leading up to this great race all week long. For further information, go to www.oparacing.org

We will then continue with our annual powerboat event schedule on Long Island Sound so we will run the GLEN COVE POWERBOAT POKER RUN on September 29th with a $5,000.00 Purse. The run is based out of Steamboat Landing Restaurant, Glen Cove , NY .

Five cash prizes will be awarded; $2,500.00 for 1st, $1,000.00 for 2nd, $500.00 for 3rd, 4th, and 5th each respectively. Additional Trophies will be presented for “Best Navigators” for Cats and V’s, “Best Looking Boat”, and “Best Looking Crew”.

Boats will arrive on Friday, September 28th and we will have an “a la carte” Party on Friday Night with an Awards’ Party (included in your entry fee) for Saturday Afternoon which will include food, soda, beer, and wine…and a lot of “talk” about the run I’m sure. The entry fee is $500.00 and you get 2 hands in the game and 4 tickets for the Saturday afternoon Award’s Party. Additional tickets will be available for $25.00 each.

We will fly the helicopter for videos and photos.

So lets all go to the Boat Race to support the participants on August 26th and then rally to the GLEN COVE POWERBOAT POKER RUN on September 29th and show them how the Powerboat Poker Runners’ do it!

That's how it reads to me.

The next run will be Glen Cove on Sept 25th.

Yes,
Jeff from Freeze Frame Video will be flying.

I should be on land or maybe a boat to get shots at water level.. My lens can reach a 1/2 mile plus.

Have a look at last weekends races:

Oh boy ............
Originally Glen Cove was not sch'd for this year. But due to the Patchogue race, and work on Billy's end, they will be doing the run in Glen Cove. The weekend that Glen Cove is sch'd is now the weekend they usually have the Hot Toddy run on the Great South Bay. The brunch run is ALWAY the Sunday before Columbus day.

(And dammit ........ I won't be at any of the NPBA's runs this year. I missed NY cause I was in OC, and now Glen Cove cause I'll be in LOTO. And looks like I won't be around for the Brunch run neither.)
