Isn't it interesting that the most vocal Baja critics ... do not own a Baja :D

Sydwayz 08-08-2007 04:32 PM

There is a place for Baja in this market. There's an ass for every seat, and that's not a bad thing.

StillHaulin@63 08-08-2007 04:34 PM

The same holds true for boating forums ... and that's not a bad thing either!

w-fever,

Here is my advice...

- Smooth, wave-crushing ride
- Fast on the water
- Relatively inexpensive

Pick two! :D

Good luck!

That about sums it up - I chose 1 & 3.
#2 can always be added later, but it runs the risk of losing #3, and #3a - Reliable

P.S. Baja is a good beginner's boat! It's the bayliner of performance boats! :p

Don't listen to the haters. If you have been totally happy with your Baja and it did everything you expected of it, buy another Baja. Personally, I think you should write out a list of everything you want in a boat (sleep over or not, fast, faster, fastest, freeboard room, style, etc). Put them in order from 1 to whatever. Then start shopping for the boats that fit your punch list and your price range. After you narrow it down to 2 or 3 brand names, come back here and ask specific questions if you have any. You'll get some valuable information. Happy shopping.

I MEAN it just ate up the wash cut through everything. and STEVE did not even use his K PLANES I WAS SHOCKED ,every otherboat in its size that I was in we always used the tabs in rough chop wake crap:D it was was a mess going to every stop. THE BOAT HAS A LOT OF ROOM, NICE CABIN, LOTS of FREEBOARD and with the 525s screamed. We cruised at 60 at around 3500 to 3700rpms at 4000 we were running in the 70s, a couple of times went up to 80 :cool-smiley-011: . the boat handled the 80s like it was on flat water, not the 3 to 4 ft junk water we were running in. I think runs in the 90s which I am sure the boat does with the 32 B1 props handles sweet. we got some air here and there and it flys level. I want a joker 28 for my next boat but boy a 28 AT MIGHT be nice to. art

Thanks for the compliment Art. We had a great time on that run.

Buy one long enough to take the big water, but short enough to trailer easily. Large enough power to go fast and then some, but tame enough to hold together and be somewhat reasonable on fuel.
Some times people selling boats fib. Talk with guys at the beach with nice rigs; likes, dislikes, etc. Don't jump on the first cheap one, it will surely cost you money. Every little problem could cost the eqivalent of 1,2 or 3 car payments. Check out insurance costs prior.
Buy quality, be educated, have fun, enjoy a great lifestyle!:party-smiley-020:

Go to a boat show and ask what makes their boat better. Get in a few and see what you think
