Question Borg Warner velvet transmission 72C 1.1 ratio

Toasted forward clutches ... I need one, anyone have 1 (or 2 seriously )??? ... NJ area would be a beautiful thing

Otherwise my season is done and with a broken wrist in early June it had really just begun

Marine Power Service has 20-30 of em...... Bam Marine also, and it's upgraded with extra forward clutches....

Or get a rebuild kit, they're fairly easy to rebuild...

Yeah spoke to Marc at BAM. I'll see if Paul wants to rebuild with a kit. Can you rebuild 'fairly easy' beefed up to 9 or 10 plates??

I missed 2 on eBay for yest. bid ended $382ea used, of course, but gauranteed no DOA. I was at work and thought they were mine for $377 ... wishful thinking. In MD coulda drove down to pick up too!!

Hey huntster, really wanted to pull broken one out swap in a 'new/used/rebuilt' one ... then pursue the rebuilding (if it can be) of the toasty one. Goal to be back on water burnin fuel ASAP

Did the upgrade on both of mine beginning of the season. Went with the 10 plate grafitic upgrade. HUBER's Apprentice did them for me at Texoma Marine. He was recomended by Earl Huber when he was going to Chemo.

They are great. No whines, screams, in and out of gear strong. I have laid into them really hard with 625 hp engines and had no problems. They are supposed to be rated for 8-900 hp.

I don't think you can just rebuild and add plates, there is some machine work that needs to be done accept the extra plates.

Marine Power should have used ones on the shelf...
