Boating from San Diego to Cabo

What type of boat would be ideal for a trip like this? Cabo San Lucas is located at the end of baja california, anybody have a rough estimate as to how many miles it is? im sure its not like going to catalina in a "go fast boat" or could one go to cabo in one? or would you totally end up stranded with no fuel??? whats it take to travel this far on your own vessel? very curious:cool-smiley-011:

goog earth shows 370mi SanDiego to middle hook on Baja pennisula.

From there to Cabo San Lucas 500mi.

One-way > 900mi

I'd gather a Nordhavn for the trip. :D

lol you know whats funny is that I was on google earth last night looking for places to go along the coast and I zoomed in on cabo and it really had my imagination going.... I noticed a lot of cruise ships and big yachts in the area......didnt see any speed boats or anything that looked like one. For a moment I thought I could probably make it but then damn its probably to far for me to handle.

I thinks its possible to trailer your boat to Cabo and then launch there. Someone I know just took their boat down there for a fishing trip. There is a nice size Marina. I think that would be the way to go.

Just drove from Cucamonga to Cabo earlier this year, great trip, but would never do it again. Would NEVER, NEVER pull a trailer down there for any reason. If you want to boat down there, charter one.
