Post Ceremony for Renaming Your Boat

I don't remember if any one has posted on this subject. This is a link to the ceremony to properly re-name your boat. http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/rename.htm
You would hate to upset Poseidon or Neptune.

OK, now I need to know...

When I looked at my boat, it had this stupid name of 'One Reazon'. Before, I took delivery of the boat, I had them remove the name OUT OF MY DOING. Their detailer removed the name. It was nameless when I bought it. I have yet to name it, officailly. I do not think I need to perform this ceremony. What do you all think?

Brian, i think you still need to do it to apease the gods! From what i have found in my misdoings, the boat will remember its name even if its taken off. So you need to take the name off and do the ceremony....wait a bit for the boat to forget its name then rename it according to ceremony.
When i got my Scarab the name was taken off before i took delivery. Unfortunatly i think since i knew the name of the boat, thats what did me in! 5 engines, one trans and one outdrive later i have it right! And the boat is finnaly happy with its new name!
