I was in the same boat as you are in now las year, I was looking for 26 - 28ft with single I/O that could handle the bay. After talking with my brother and his friends, it was soon realized that if you like going all over the bay,it can get pretty rough so for boat size I'd get the biggest heaviest boat in your budget that you can handle. I ended up buying a 1989 Formula 272 SR-1 w/t-454's, I got the twins cause I never wanted to be standed if one motor went down I had another to get me home. So far I've taken mine from annapolis to cambridge in 5-6 footers with the occasional 7ft and boat was great, didn't get worried once, this weekend I came back from mikes on south river in to annapolis in 3-4ft just riding on top about 40mph ran great. Also with 2 people and half fuel I've got 73mph on GPS.Here a pic of mine, and a couple I found.Good Luck

Shore Thing, sent you an email on your boat. I'd like to come and take a look at it. Send me back a message when we could meet up, I'm in Annapolis. I'd really like to see the cabin. Thanks!

Lets stay focused, remortgage the house, and not think practicle, just fast... like 92mph with a 525...

Well, OK, it's just a thought.

If it's not GPS, it dosent mean anything.

The on board GPS is analog, so I also use the hand held.
