Imco Xtreme 1000?

Who is running or has experience with the Imco Extreme 1000's?
What is the cost for a pair?
I believe they offer an extended warranty, how much is it and is it worth it?

I am running a Teague Platinum on my Krypt now and have been happy with it. I am looking for some options for a twin Bravo boat I am looking at.

Thanks.

I run the Imco Xtreme Sc's on my Warlock (2x600's) and they have been great. I highly recommend their products. The SC 1000 came out after I upgraded mine. I believe it is the same drive with some more enhancements.

The 1000 is not a bravo type drive. All the shifting chores are done with a BAM transmission mounted in the extension box.

Don't bother...... Warranty..bhwhahahah... They told me "what part of no warranty don't you understand."

I blew two in 20 hrs and threw in the towel (715 hp)... absolutely no customer support other than wanting me to pay $6k for a new upper....then I go to someone I know and get it cheaper..

They "say" 800 but don't believe the hype.... :(

I bit the bullet and got BMax's. 1st year I had 715 hp, this year I have 830 hp and 120 hrs on these drives. All I've done is change the oil. :cool-smiley-011:

The imco extreme sc is just a bravo xr with lipstick (imco shafts and upper casing with extra bolts),if you plan on running any kind of real power and your boat is heavy they are barely a step better then a bravo xr. Now the sc1000's on the other hand (at 35,000$ per side) are supposed to be a built from scratch drive with alot of strength, haven't heard of anyone running them yet,Smitty

@ 35K a side, I'm putting on #6s or Arnesons!

I am looking for the best bolt on Bravo type drive. The boat I am looking at has Imco Ext. Boxes already & over 700hp. I know I would be dealling with 2 timebombs w/ the Xr's.

tom are the motors blown or natural ?

Tom A. 08-31-2007 08:42 AM

Natural, 600ci (750 hp) similar torque.

Sydwayz 08-31-2007 08:49 AM

A couple ATs have been rigged with Teague Platinum drives and are doing well. The Teague Platinum was designed to run behind the Teague 720NA engine. After a few friends' experiences with BMAX, I don't know how they are still around.

tom with n/a power as long as ya throttle it correctly you really shouldnt have any issues with the xr's. talk to rolf at proroc or smitty at smitty's. is wazzzzzzzzzup the 32 viper he's running 700 plus per side on beefed up bravos...not even xr's. its the blowers that wipe out bravo's. and gotta get a dyno sheet and see at what rpm peak torque is being made and tryin stay away from it. just like the merc 300x's on the cat...cruise was at 48-5000 rpms right where peak torque was. once i started running either below or above NO MORE LOWER ISSUES ...just my .02

berns29scarab 08-31-2007 08:59 AM

whats up with the Kryp,,,sell her yet ?

Tom A. 08-31-2007 09:12 AM

Almost! :D

Panther 08-31-2007 10:14 AM

If you're gonna run an XR or IMCO with any kind of power make sure you turn up the RPMS. The gears are just too small...

The clock will be ticking either way....

The Wazzup Tempest (bravo's) broke in the race...not sure what happened though...

PatriYacht 08-31-2007 12:09 PM

B-max seems to be the only Bravo style drive that lasts with more than 700 hp. For the price of the Imco 1000, I'd get #3's, #5's or Konrads. There are very few people running the 1000 so it's hard to judge if they will hold up.
