anyone have experience with this hull on hw it handles rough water. And general build quality on these scarabs?

Looks like a decent boat and well taken care of (from what you can see in the pics). That engine should get that boat in the low 60's I'd think. I've had that engine before without any issues with a heck of a lot more hours on it that this one shows.

I'm watching this boat too but I'm thinking of a top speed of more like 54 with the 300 HP that it has. it is 4800 lbs with a 4200 RPM engine. Were I to buy it the engine would be out after 1 day at the lake.

Looks like a nice, clean boat, even at the 'buy-it-now' price. I agree on losing the neons, and the engine's power would probably be a disappointment after a few runs around those with more power in their boats. It's too bad it doesn't have Keikhaffer tabs- once you own a boat with them, it's VERY difficult to go back to one with Bennetts.
On a side note, a nice stereo is always a cool in a boat, but many here on OSO love the sound of their engine(s) over the din of a stereo. I can't stand it when folks go bombing a dozen holes into an interior for speaker installations. Great sound is acheivable with less if you spend proper money.
And, maybe it's just the inspector in me or I'm overly cautious (please chime in here) but I don't agree with non-shielded, non-marine electrical installations in a bilge area (i.e. large automotive-bred power amps). There's already enough chance for some pretty explosive things to happen back there (I've witnessed quite a few in my day). If you have to have an ear-ringer of a stereo, it might be advisable to find a little more safe haven for the equipment(?)

I have the same boat, different graphics, but with a 502 mag. Don't expect low 60's with that motor. I get 60-62 (in the dead of summer) and 62-64 the rest of the year. The boat handles great, likes the rough stuff. The cuddy is pretty shallow though.

May want to look for cracks in the gel coat, mine has several throughout the hull in different places.
