I have worked for a Regal dealer for the last 4 years and haven;t yet to see a 290 with diesels. Not saying there isn't just don't know much about them. Do you have any pics? Regal boats weren't built as good back then as they are now but it should still be a good boat. They seem to last quite a while. If you can get some pics it wouuld jog my memory a little but I think the 27 is the one to stay away from as it bobs around like a bobber in the water with lots of fron-back and side to side rocking.

Can't comment about the diesels, but we had a 290 for 8 years. It had the merc 260 hp 5.7's with alphas. Fantastic boat. Ride was good. Boat was comfortable for the family.

Yeah, it is the 27 that acts like a bobber. I've been in a few but had the small blocks like inbetween's boat. It is a good riding boat, even here at LOTO.
