This is NOT true.

Sonics came from Coyote.

AT hulls are NOT derived from ANY Sonic (or Coyote).

Both the 25 and 32 Active Thunder molds were sold. They came from a very small midwest company.

The 28, 33, 37, and 43 Active Thunder molds are ALL ORIGINAL with the help of Harry Schoell.

The smaller Sonics up to the 35' were a splash of the Donzi/Performer hull with the keel rounded at the transom.

The 35' and up were influenced by Jean-Claude Simon, who was the designer of the Coyote and Cobra.

The original ATs were the Thunder Marine hulls from Bob Oetringer of Chicago. (The small Midwestern company Sydwayz is referring to.).

Brian, The 28 is a short 32 that Harry had nothing to do with. For what it is worth to all, I have seen the 43 plug being built the old school way and it is a work of art, from scratch. Please pass the popcorn

Brian, we looked at strike boats a ways back. I think Herb Phillips may have been involved, maybe not.
Either way, we went on a ride on a 26 single diesel w/ tower back in the early-mid 80s cool little boat. They also did a 29, but had closer to 11ft beam. the 26 had 8ft. could the joker have come from the 26? Do you have any pics of that 28. Not doubting you, just curious. BTW, the strikes are great little boats!

thunder 31 or 32 came from an excalibur (it was maroon color w/small blocks) 25 thunder came from a cigarette24 ( grey w/twin 6cyl.) built in Ill. Everything is splashed off something or another. ever notice how much a 27' fountain resembles a 23 cobalt?

I remember reading on the Pantera forum (I think) that many different manufacturer's 24 foot hulls were very similar.

I'm waiting for the Chinese to copy the Cigarettes and sell them for...say...$9999.99......with Chinese made engines of course.

Use it one season and sink it!

(btw....what does "splash" one hull from another mean?)
