I was told that they are still in a building in Buford, Georgia. But what do I know . . .

New 30 footer should be on the water next year...scarrab30 is having it built...hopefully we'll be rigging it this winter.

The hull is upside down now getting some tricks done to it. Ours will be the prototype 30 , No fancy interior or galley but decent motors and all about the business. Just a solid Poker run boat.
Hope to have it done for Frankie-n-Louie's Poker run in June, along with a T/G he is re gel coating for a buddy of mine.

Looking good Brian!!

TexomaPowerboater 10-08-2007 06:49 PM

Sweet boat, I didn't know that python ever built a 30ft boat? I had a 24 and I've only seen a 20, 28, and 34. My 24 was a strong little boat.

DirtyMoney 10-08-2007 07:11 PM

The only Pythons Jim built were the 18,20,24,34 and a couple 31 cats.

Bilgerat 10-08-2007 10:16 PM

Tell Capt. Nabber Jason from Lake of the Ozarks says hi next time you see him. I'll take my 30 footer with a canopy and a 525EFFI please

StraightJacket 10-08-2007 10:45 PM

Thats why ours is a prototype 30, it the one he is using to craft the mold. He also has a mold for an 18, 24, not sure about the others.

So if the builder/owner of python boats has passed away and he never made a 30ft boat then what makes this a Python?

The name they are gonna put on it is Python...that makes it a Python. :ernaehrung004:

What's the beam on the 30'? Are you going with SB's or BBs?

Bilgerat 10-09-2007 12:16 PM

DId tom get the molds for the 18 also i thought he only had the 24, I loved riding in his personal 18' I was there when he put in the turn fin, i would love that for evening outings here at LOTO, wonder what i could get one bare fiberglass for.?

StraightJacket 10-09-2007 02:25 PM

Tom bought the rights to the name after Jim passed. Tom doesn't have the mold for the 18 at his place I believe they are still south. I asked him the same thing about building me a hull after I gave up on my sweet 16. He might consider selling his 18 from what he tol;d me , if your interested.
This one is going to have twin 540 n/a's pushing 730 hp , going to use our TRS drives to do a fair comparision to our old hull and then upgrade to Conrads . I know old tech. but we like the fact there is a trans , and Bravos won't hold up. Never had a problem with the TRS's and we don't baby them either ,just ask around.

DirtyMoney 10-09-2007 09:39 PM

I have enough I am not using. Before Jim passed we had discussed me taking the molds but never did.

Beau is a 100% good guy. You, on the other hand, are a joke.

I'd suggest you backing off before you get your a$$ banned. Or swarmed upon.

DirtyMoney 11-27-2007 07:25 PM

Thank you Chris

Worth concidering....................not if your looking at a cigarette. They are good boats, just a different class than some on your short list, or should I say long list:D

excalibur32 11-28-2007 07:33 AM

I'll miss Buddy00, diesel powered of course!

Chris Sunkin 11-28-2007 10:46 AM

I guess I was a little late on the heads-up to our pal Buddy.

Jim always built a good quality boat, just the final fit and finish on some of them was up there with some of the bigger name brands. As far as how they run, and hold up they were a very good boat.

Beau,

Do you know by chance what happened to the 18' mold, or any of the little jet boats that Jim built back in his MI days?

DirtyMoney 11-29-2007 05:19 PM

Last I saw the 18 was still over at the old shop.

DirtyMoney 11-29-2007 05:20 PM

Or maybe it was the 21. Not many 21's built though

RumRunner 11-29-2007 05:30 PM

Guess, I'll have to stop by and look.
