Here is an idea for phone solicitors. When I get a call I ask who it is and then tell them to wait, that "he" is outside and "we" were just "talking about buying one of those" and I will call "him" to the phone. Then I holler out my name and say, "There is a guy on the phone who wants to talk to you about the ----" then I tell the phone guy that "Jim" will be right in. In a few minutes I pick up the phone and reassure him that "Jim" is on the way into the house. Every minute or so I pick up and tell him to stay on the line and "he" will be right in.
I can string them along for 10 minutes or so without even getting rude or abusive. It is so feindish to do that to those poor phone sales types.

I signed up for the 'No-Call' list. Makes it illegal for them to call me now. Took effect Jan 1. No more calls! :D :D If I wanted it, I wouldn't need them calling me to remind me!

Thats a great idea! Now what do I do about all the cataloges I get every day. I'm not talking about Victorias Secret. Mostly I get Martha Stewart/Oprah type chit. Hell I even get sailboat cataloges sometimes. WHO WANTS THAT CRAP! I need goggles to keep the bugs out of my eyes, not a hat to keep them from ramming into the back of my head. :D :D

check out this link. I used this free service a year ago, and things really DID quiet down.... But, as time goes on, junk mail and telemarketing calls start to increase... Just repeat the process every 6 months or so - it's pretty painless.
