What was buy-it-now? it's not listed anymore.

There is nothing in the ad regarding a private auction, or needing to be pre-approved. where do you see that?

Are you sure the page isn't getting re-directed on you? The link in the address bar should be: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=170147188047

it should not change!

I just clicked on your link and it says no bids starting bid is 48K and buy it now is 63.5.

Ok, tried it in Internet explorer and I get a different listing. Something is wrong with this picture.

Image on the left is IE, on the right is FireFox. Same listing, same link.

(sorry for the crappy image, i just used paint to resize my double screen desktop to get it to upload.)

VetteLT193 09-10-2007 01:25 PM

To make it clear:

the image on the left (IE) says:
-Current Bid 48k
-BIN 63.5k
-0 Bids

The image on the right (fireFox) says:
-Current bid 101,100
-No BIN available
-16 bids

if something already seems a tad off regarding the auction, but you want the boat...before I spent a 100K I would spend 650 on a plane ticket to go see and speak with someone in person

fishead 09-10-2007 01:30 PM

I was contemplating the buy it now option but things look fishy?

fishead 09-10-2007 01:32 PM

Yeah,I work for the airlines so going to see it is not the problem.I spoke to the sellers agent and he doesnt speak english very good.Says if I buy it and dont like it I can get a refund.I went through the prequalification to bid but by the time I got it it was over the buy it now.Why would someone just not buy it now before it got to over 100K.

The boat is Coast Guard documented. You can use those numbers to trace the present owner and make sure it is not a scam... I say Scam.

I agree, and if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

There is a 1996 42 in the classifieds here at OSO, the guy is asking 180k... that seems like a logical price, and if this eBay guy needed to unload it in a week's time, it seems like he could easily get 100k for it.
