I've got a buddy who does insurance and I asked him about a quote on a little Skater recently. Came back with under $800 per year. Seems like the guys going ape on the cat insurance are the guys looking to jump into a 36' Skater as their first boat. Not that insurance isn't high for the big cats, but boat size, value and prior cat experience are critical.

Good luck! And contact Insurance God (Empower Marine Insurance) here on OSO. He's a great dude, a hard core boating nut and he'll do everything he can to get you insured in that boat for a fair price.
