Cost of slip in Key West !!!! 38'

Just was wondering the cost of a slip during spring break. Also where to go!

I don't know what a slip cost, but i would stay in the bight...right near the Schooner Wharf Bar..you can walk to the bars (Sloopy's, The Garden of Eden Etc.) and Damn Good Food to Go is right there! :D :D :D :D

I've docked at the Galleon. Its' a great place. Upscale mostly and fairly quiet at night, but close to everything. I was there a few years ago and the Golden Eagle was docked there also - the Anheiser Busch Yatch - met some folks and hung out on it one evening...

too bad I wasn't born into the Busch family...

oh well...

Slip at the Galleon, which is the best marina in Key West, will run about $110 per night. Their # is 305-292-1292. Dockmaster Warren is a great guy, and a genuine character.

Sounds about right: $3/foot, except for "special events" where rates go to $4/foot. That's why I left my 38 at home for the races last year - the hotel room was cheaper.

That being said, I agree with the Galleon recommendation. The Municipal Marina at Garrison Bight is pretty nice, but it's a pretty good no-wake run to open water.
There is also a marina at the Hilton, but it is a natural focal point for waves, and you will be rockin' and rollin' BIG time there.

If you don't mind a little commute, you might get a better rate at Key West Oceanside Marina at the far (East) end of the island. Call them at (305) 294-4676, ask for Roger Green, and tell him that Chuck told you to call.

Key West. You lucky dog. :) Go anywhere in town - you'll have fun. As far as boat trips go, if you have a nice day, run out to the Tortugas/Fort Jefferson. Very cool place. Bring snorkel gear, too.

:D Thanks everyone. WE are going down March 7 and might stay till the 25th. We are goint to start out in Key Largo and then to Holiday Isle. From there ??? Any Thing we might miss from there?

Stay at the city marina in Key West. 1.30 a foot per night, short trip to the west end. Secure. Its called the Bight. Showers, wash area for boat or trailer.

as long as your trip includes one night at the Tiki Bar at Islamorada, you're all set. Just don't make early morning plans for the night after the Tiki Bar ....

stay inside the markers coming in...it's pretty shallow there...

Don't miss Hawk's Cay Resort on Duck Key. At least stop for lunch. Very nice place.

Make sure you catch dinner at Marthas, over by the airport. By far the best resuraunt on the island. Also try Louie's Back Yard, another classic. The only marina I know in Key West is the Galion, and it is first rate. sounds like fun. Good luck!
