My Dad has a pair of 700's in a 38 Fountain. They have been turn key for 50 hours or so. The motors are also extremely fuel efficient for 700 HP motors. They idle well, start regardless of temp, cant really say anything bad about them.

I was told 325-400 hours, depending on maintenance.

Merc Racing told me last week that the maintance schedule on the 700 is the same as that on the 525EFI. The drive schedule is a little better. For some reason i find that hard to believe given it is a blower motor, but technology has come a long way.

You cannot tell they are blower motors around the docks. You would love them.

As for the blowers, they really don't run any boost until you're over 3500 rpm. They do idle very smooth and as stated the mid-range is very strong. Beyond the maintenance there is really no comparison to the 525's.
