Whats a "Poker Run".....
I am right now really into motorcycles, but i'm really looking into getting into boating. From what i have seen, it looks like a great hobby me & the family can get into....
So you will probably see several newb question from me, but like the title says, what the heck is a "Poker Run"..... Viper |

A poker run is an organized event using a motorcycle, boat, car or other form of transportation where participants travel over a predesignated route and, at designated stops on the route, draw playing card(s). The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. Prizes (usually cash prizes) are awarded for the best hand; some runs will award smaller awards for lower hands. Poker runs usually require a fee to enter; part of the fee goes to funding the event (including the prizes), while the rest goes to the event's cause (usually a charity of some sort). Specific rules and details vary, depending on the event. |

On Lake Travis, it's $50 for a hand and $400 in gas! :eek:
It's really just an excuse to go boating with your friends. The cards and money are secondary. :D |
And all this time I thought it had to do with sex in high school. You didn't want to get caught and shot by her old man, so you poke 'er 'n RUUNNNN!!!!!:evilb:
Today it could be used as a drive-thru brothel name perhaps. Either way, it's still 400+ bucks!!!:cool-smiley-027: |
